Our custom snack bags capture customer attention with vibrant, shelf-stopping designs while using high-barrier, resealable materials to lock in your product’s irresistible freshness and crunch.

Stand-Up Pouches

This is the most popular modern format for retail snacks. It features a durable, W-shaped gusset on the bottom that allows the bag to stand upright on its own, providing excellent shelf presence. They are almost always fitted with a resealable zipper, making them perfect for multi-serving snacks like pretzels, nuts, dried fruit, and jerky.

Pillow Pouches

The classic “chip bag.” This is the most economical and common bag for high-volume, single-serving snacks. It has a vertical “fin seal” down the back and horizontal seals at the top and bottom. This format is ideal for products like potato chips, popcorn, and cookies, as it can be easily nitrogen-flushed to create an air-filled “pillow” that protects fragile contents.

Flat Pouches (3-Side Seal)

A simple and cost-effective pouch sealed on three sides, with the top left open for filling and sealing. Because they lay flat, they are an excellent choice for single-serving snacks, flat items like fruit leathers or beef jerky, and sample packs. They often include a tear notch and a hang-hole for retail peg displays.

Flat-Bottom Bags (Box Pouches)

A premium, five-sided pouch that mimics the look of a box. It has a completely flat bottom for superior stability and two side gussets. This format provides five distinct panels for branding (front, back, two sides, and bottom), offering a 360-degree marketing canvas. It’s a popular choice for high-end granola, gourmet nuts, and premium trail mixes.

Ipakpac Snack Bag FAQs

Have questions about our custom snack packaging? We’ve got answers. Find our most common queries on food-grade materials, freshness-locking features, and the premium finishes that will make your snack jump off the shelf.

Can your packaging be nitrogen-flushed?

Yes. Many of our packaging materials, especially pillow pouches and high-barrier films, are fully compatible with the nitrogen flushing process. Filling the bag with inert nitrogen gas before sealing displaces oxygen, which dramatically extends the shelf life of snacks like chips and nuts. It also provides an essential “air pillow” that cushions fragile products (like cookies or crisps) from being crushed during transit.

What types of retail hang-hole options do you offer?

We offer the two standard retail hang-hole options so your product can be displayed on pegs:

  • Round Hang Hole: A simple, circular punch, suitable for lighter-weight products.

  • Sombrero/Delta Hang Hole: The “sombrero” shaped hole, which is the industry standard as it is stronger, distributes weight more evenly for heavier bags, and makes it easier to center the product on a retail peg.

Can you print a combination of matte and gloss finishes on the same bag?

Absolutely. This technique is known as “Spot UV” or “Matte/Gloss Combination.” We can apply a matte finish (which provides a premium, velvety texture) to the main body of your bag and then apply a high-gloss finish precisely onto specific areas, such as your logo, text, or an image. The contrast is visually striking and significantly enhances your product’s shelf appeal.

Are your materials oil-resistant?

My snacks (like nuts or chips) have high fat content. Yes, this is a critical design consideration for our materials. Our multi-layer laminated films include specialized barrier layers (like PE or PP liners) designed to prevent oils from seeping through the package. This prevents grease spots (wicking) on the exterior, maintains the integrity of the print, and ensures the package remains clean and appealing throughout its shelf life.

What is "Cold Seal" and is it right for my snack?

Cold Seal is an adhesive technology that seals a package using only pressure, not heat. It’s used primarily for products that are highly sensitive to heat. For most snacks (like chips, nuts, pretzels), we recommend a “Heat Seal,” which provides a stronger, more hermetic seal. However, if your snack (like certain chocolate-coated bars or energy bars) would melt or be damaged by heat, Cold Seal is the ideal solution.

What's the difference between your Digital and Rotogravure printing?

  • Digital Printing: This is ideal for small-to-medium runs, multiple SKUs (many flavors or designs), or fast-to-market projects. It requires no printing plates, has a fast setup time, and is perfect for startups, seasonal items, or market testing.

  • Rotogravure Printing: This is the traditional solution for very high-volume production (typically 10,000+ units). It uses engraved metal cylinders and provides the highest possible print quality, consistency, and the lowest per-unit cost at scale. It’s best for established, high-volume products.
