What is a Spout Bag?
A Spout Bag (also known as a Spouted Pouch or Fitment Pouch) is a revolutionary flexible packaging solution that combines the structural stability of a stand-up pouch with the dispensing convenience of a rigid bottle. Physically, it consists of a durable, multi-layer laminated body tailored to hold liquids, pastes, or gels, integrated with a securely sealed plastic nozzle and tamper-evident screw cap.
Unlike traditional glass jars or rigid plastic bottles that remain bulky whether full or empty, spout bags are designed for maximum logistical efficiency. They are supplied flat to your facility, occupying up to 95% less warehouse space and drastically reducing shipping weight and carbon footprint compared to rigid containers. For the end consumer, the advantages are equally compelling: the flexible material allows for near-total product evacuation—meaning they can squeeze out every last drop of sauce, lotion, or detergent—while the resealable cap ensures the contents remain fresh and leak-proof between uses. From beverages and baby food to industrial lubricants, Spout Bags offer a safe, shatter-proof, and cost-effective alternative that modernizes your brand’s presentation.

Ipakpac Spout Bags FAQs
Have questions about our custom spout bags? We’ve got answers. Find our most common questions on product-safe materials, freshness protection, child-friendly features, and the custom options that will make your brand the top choice for parents.
How are spout pouches filled?
There are two common methods depending on your equipment. Fill-through-spout: The bag comes with the spout already sealed and the cap removed; you inject the liquid through the nozzle and then cap it. Fill-through-top: The spout and cap are fully assembled and sealed, but the top of the bag is left open; you fill the bag through this void and then heat seal the top. We can manufacture pouches to suit either filling line.
Are spout bags durable enough to resist bursting during transport?
Yes. Our spout pouches are engineered with high-strength, multi-layer laminated films (often including Nylon or Aluminum) that provide exceptional tensile strength and puncture resistance. They undergo rigorous burst testing and drop testing to ensure they can withstand the pressure of stacking and shipping without leaking.
Can spout pouches handle hot filling or pasteurization?
Absolutely. We offer specific material structures designed for high-temperature applications. Whether your process involves hot filling (up to 90°C) or retort sterilization (121°C), we can customize the film layers to maintain structural integrity and prevent delamination under heat and pressure.
What size spout diameter should I choose?
The spout diameter depends on the viscosity of your product. For thin liquids like water or juice, a standard 8.6mm or 10mm spout is sufficient. For thicker products like nut butters, chunky sauces, or gels, we recommend a wider spout (e.g., 15mm or larger) to ensure easy flow and a frustration-free consumer experience.
Are the materials used for spout bags food-grade and BPA-free?
Yes, all our spout pouches are manufactured using FDA-compliant, food-grade materials. They are certified BPA-free, odorless, and tasteless, ensuring that they do not alter the flavor or safety of your beverage, baby food, or condiment product.
How much space do spout bags save compared to rigid bottles?
Spout bags offer massive logistical savings. Before filling, they are shipped flat, occupying up to 95% less warehouse space than empty glass or plastic bottles. This significantly lowers your shipping costs and reduces your carbon footprint, making them a highly sustainable packaging choice.
