Custom Rollstock
Power your automated packaging lines with our high-performance Custom Rollstock. Engineered for flawless compatibility with Vertical (VFFS) and Horizontal (HFFS) form-fill-seal machines, our rollstock ensures your production runs are smooth, fast, and efficient. We provide superior, high-definition printing and precise material laminations to protect your product—ideal for snack bars, powders, granular products, coffee, and more.
What is Custom Rollstock?
Custom Rollstock is a continuous roll of flexible packaging film that is printed with your company’s unique branding and graphics.
Instead of being delivered as individual pre-made bags, it’s a bulk roll of material that is specifically designed to be used on an automated packaging machine.
This machine, known as a Form-Fill-Seal (FFS) machine, does three jobs in one high-speed process:
Forms: It takes the flat rollstock and forms it into a pouch.
Fills: It fills the pouch with your product (like snacks, coffee, powder, or liquid).
Seals: It seals the package shut.
In short: Custom Rollstock is the bulk material used for high-speed, automated packaging. It is the most cost-effective solution for businesses that are packaging thousands of units at a time.
Rollstock Styles
3-Inch Core
"Using smaller cores offers greater versatility in final roll dimensions, making this size preferable for low-volume orders or custom measurements."
6-Inch Core
"This larger core size promotes a more balanced weight distribution, which can help streamline the manufacturing process."
Ipakpac Rollstock Options
Laser-Scored
Laser scoring allows for precise perforations that facilitate easy opening of the package. This is especially important for consumer convenience.
Printed
Printed rollstock allows for vibrant and high-quality graphics, making it suitable for branding and marketing purposes.
Laminated
Laminated rollstock is made of multiple layers, offering enhanced barrier properties. This allows for extra protection from external factors.
Sustainable Options
We also offer sustainable options to help you protect the environment and attract eco-conscious consumers. These include recyclable, compostable, and biodegradable options.
Many Available Materials
Adding end caps to your rollstock enhances roll stability and ease of handling.
Perforation
Laser micro perforations can be pre-applied to help maximize the shelf life of your goods. They regulate moisture and gas exchange, preserving product freshness.

Ipakpac Rollstock FAQs
Have questions about our custom rollstock film? We’ve compiled the answers to key technical questions, from material structures and barrier properties to machine compatibility and unwind direction.
What is the difference between rollstock and pre-made pouches?
Rollstock is a continuous roll of printed film designed for automated packaging. A Form-Fill-Seal (FFS) machine forms, fills, and seals the package all in one process. In contrast, pre-made pouches are delivered as individual, already-formed bags that only require you to fill and seal them shut.
Will your rollstock work with my VFFS or HFFS machine?
Yes. Our rollstock is engineered to be compatible with nearly all Vertical (VFFS) and Horizontal (HFFS) Form-Fill-Seal machines. To ensure perfect compatibility, we will confirm a few technical specs like your machine’s required “unwind direction,” maximum roll diameter, and inner core size (typically 3-inch or 6-inch).
What are material laminations, and why are they important for rollstock?
Lamination is the process of bonding multiple layers of film (e.g., PET, Mylar/Foil, PE) into a single, high-performance structure. This is critical for rollstock as it provides the high barrier against oxygen and moisture, the durability to prevent punctures, and the strength to run at high speeds on automated equipment without tearing.
What is an "eye-mark" or "registration mark"?
An eye-mark (or registration mark) is a small, printed rectangle on the edge of the film. Your FFS machine’s optical sensor reads this mark to know the exact spot to cut and seal the film, ensuring your graphics are perfectly centered on every package.
What is "unwind direction" and why do I need to know it?
Unwind direction (or “film unwind”) is a critical specification that tells the machine how your artwork is oriented on the roll. It dictates how the film must be fed so that the final package is formed with the front and back graphics facing the correct way. We provide a simple diagram to help you select the right option for your setup.
Can you provide rollstock for "fin seal" and "lap seal" applications?
Yes. We can structure the material for either type of seal. A “fin seal” (where the film’s interior layer seals to itself) is most common for high-barrier Mylar or foil laminations. A “lap seal” (where the interior layer seals to the exterior layer) is often used on simpler, non-laminated films and uses slightly less material.
